Trying to Grow on Social Media Feels Like Screaming Into the Void

I don’t think anyone really prepares you for how weird social media is when you start a small business.
You see all these accounts that seem like they just casually post a picture of something they made and suddenly they’ve got ten thousand followers, brand deals, and people fighting in the comments over which color they should release next.
Meanwhile, you’re over here carefully staging a photo of your crochet project, adjusting lighting, fluffing yarn like it’s a tiny wool celebrity… and the post gets seven likes.
Three of them are your friends. One is your mom. One is probably a bot selling crypto.
Growing a social media presence when you're a handmade business is honestly one of the hardest parts of this whole thing.
It’s not the crocheting. I’ve been doing that since I was seven years old. Yarn and hooks make sense to me.
The internet, however, is a mystery.
Apparently the algorithm wants consistency, video, personality, storytelling, trending sounds, educational content, entertainment content, short content, long content, and also whatever else it feels like that day.
Cool.
No pressure.
But even though it’s frustrating sometimes, I’m still committed to figuring it out. Because social media isn’t just about selling things. It’s about building a community of people who love handmade stuff, creativity, and maybe a little chaos.
So if you’ve been following along, liking posts, sharing things, or commenting — thank you. Seriously.
Every single interaction helps more than you probably realize.
