The Inventory Guessing Game

Trying to decide what inventory to make is basically a guessing game.

Sometimes something you think will be wildly popular sits on the table all day.

Other times something you made on a whim sells out in twenty minutes.

Handmade businesses don’t get the luxury of giant warehouses full of products. Every item takes time to make, which means you have to be thoughtful about what you create.

Do you focus on small items?

Statement pieces?

Seasonal stuff?

The truth is, you usually end up doing a little bit of everything and hoping the right people walk by your booth.

Over time you start to learn what people love, what colors sell best, and what pieces really catch people’s attention.

But there’s always a little bit of mystery to it.

And honestly, that’s part of the fun.

Because every time someone picks up something you made and decides to take it home, it’s a reminder that handmade things still matter.

And that’s what The Lonesome Wren is all about.
